26644 LAKE FOREST DRIVE, TWIN PEAKS

Enjoy a private botany lesson in your own yard...

From Lake Forest Drive, turn down a flat, easy road that winds back toward your retreat. Only four other properties use this road to access their homes (all of which are quite nice and well-kept). At the end of the cul-de-sac, pull onto the 2-car parking deck and open the door to the forest. A large, green Canyon Live Oak greets you as you walk the path from the parking area to the house. Along the way, you'll also recognize California Black Oaks, Douglas Firs and towering Sugar Pine trees as they frame the enormous boulders and rocks that crouch like ancient sentinels protecting the property. Small Incense Cedars push their way toward the sunlight and an apple tree has been planted just by the main entrance - you'll be picking one as you unlock the door at some point in the future!

This home has a floor plan that works for many different people and/or scenarios. Depending on your needs, this home could have as many as five bedrooms. Currently, there are 2 good-sized bedrooms on the main entry level.  Upstairs there is one bedroom with a pitched ceiling of white-washed pine and a dormer window large enough to put a twin bed. Upstairs there is also a large loft area with wet bar (again with vaulted ceiling and dormer window) and a medium-toned knotty pine tongue-in-groove ceiling. This room was originally intended as a family or game room, but is currently used as a bedroom. On the lowest level of the home is a laundry and storage room that, with slight modifications, could be a a fifth sleeping area (this area was completed without permits).

The rest of the home is inviting and open. In addition to the two bedrooms, the main living level has a living room with fireplace and several nice views of the forest outside through large windows and glass-paned doors. A large, wrap-around deck extends from the main entry way around to the back of the home, where it spans the entire length of the house (over 40 feet) and is about 12 feet wide - plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and relax. The kitchen is just off of the living room with an ample eating area and window over the sink. Two full bathrooms (one on the main floor and one upstairs) round-out the package.

This home is situated perfectly among the trees to enjoy all four mountain seasons. Experience Spring as new leaves unfold on the oaks, Summer as the trees provide shade and the relaxing sound of wind through the branches. The leaves of the California Black Oak will turn to gold, red and brown as Fall enters the scene - the fallen leaves a contrast against the dark soil. All the trees with be flocked with snow in Winter - you'll want to curl up on the couch with some tea as the kids make s'mores in the fireplace as the snowflakes descend in a hush outside.

Only minutes from town, but a world away. Memories are made here. Kids clamoring over the boulders and collecting pine cones and acorns. Barbecues on the deck - corn on the cob, watermelon-eating contests and burgers done 'just right.'  Stockings hung from the mantle, snowmen with carrot noses and snow angels. What are you waiting for?

Spend time with friends, family and loved ones away from the stress and strain of everyday life.  You'll regret not making the decision to start building fond memories right now.  Just reduced AGAIN to $274,000.
